The Advisory Council has approved the draft of the "Referendum Ordinance, 2025," the interim government announced today.
The referendum ballot paper will be coloured, it added.
The decision was finalised at a meeting held at the office of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, who chaired the session.
Law Adviser Professor Asif Nazrul shared the update during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy following the meeting.
Election Commission Secretary Akhter Hossain and the Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam were also present.
According to an earlier announcement by the interim government, a referendum will take place on the same day as the national election scheduled for February next year, though the exact date has not yet been declared.
Voters will be asked to either approve or reject the constitutional amendment proposals outlined in the July National Charter.
