Taylor Swift unveils acoustic Fate of Ophelia

Taylor Swift has released a surprise acoustic version of her hit single The Fate of Ophelia, titled Alone in My Tower (Acoustic Version), offering fans a stripped-down take on the chart-topping song from her latest album The Life of a Showgirl.

Dropped late on Thursday, the new version trades the original's upbeat pop production for a simple acoustic guitar arrangement, highlighting Swift's vocals and lyrical melancholy. Co-written and produced with Max Martin and Shellback, The Fate of Ophelia was Swift's 13th number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for three weeks.

Alongside the digital release, Swift announced a limited-edition CD single featuring both the acoustic and instrumental versions. The collector's item, which was only available on 31 October, included alternate artwork inspired by the Ophelia music video set.

The release coincides with renewed public attention after Swift's fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce, mimicked the song's choreography during a touchdown celebration at Arrowhead Stadium earlier this week — a moment Swift was seen cheering on from the stands.
