Samsung’s Real QLED: Ensuring the truest picture quality

Samsung has long been recognized for its cutting-edge display technology. In a market full of misleading claims, Samsung stands out by offering the best QLED TVs. These are powered by what it calls the 'Real QLED'. So, why is Samsung calling it 'Real'?

There are several brands available in the market that offer QLED technology, at least as they claim. However, they often fall short in delivering what QLED technology truly means, whereas Samsung stays true to its promise of providing genuine Quantum Dot technology.

The difference between real and fake QLED technology directly affects what you see on screen every day. A true QLED display utilizes a layer of nano-sized quantum dots that produce vibrant, accurate colors when illuminated by light from a blue LED backlight. It enables Samsung TVs to maintain 100% color volume, meaning colors remain vivid and true even at maximum brightness levels.

Not all so-called QLED TVs are created equally. Many use poor-quality materials or lack an authentic Quantum Dot layer. As a result, these TVs display dimmer pictures, muted colors, and reduced definition. Samsung's Real QLED TVs are certified by TÜV Rheinland. This is a well-respected German authority renowned for guaranteeing quality and safety.

The certification guarantees that Samsung's QLED TVs meet the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)'s high standards. Specifically, they are certified according to the IEC 62595-1-6 standard, which requires proper use of Quantum Dot light-converting units with blue light sources – the identifying feature of true QLED technology. This means Samsung's QLED TVs aren't only branded as such; they are scientifically tested and certified to be true. The TÜV Rheinland testing process even checks the ratio of red, green, and blue light spectrums to ensure color correctness and minimize distortion.

Many other self-proclaimed QLED TVs in the market do not meet these standards. They use white LED backlights instead of blue, which results in a lack of vibrant colors and poor contrast. The screens don't look the same from all sides or angles. Most importantly, these non-certified products don't undergo international testing, and therefore, there's no guarantee of their quality.

Another major difference is Samsung's commitment to going green. Real QLED TVs are cadmium- or heavy metal-free, which is beneficial for both human life and the environment. This has been verified by SGS, another international testing company. The TVs are also RoHS compliant, which restricts the use of hazardous substances in electronic equipment. By eliminating these, Samsung has improved its screens, making them better, safer, and greener.

Choosing a certified Real QLED TV is not just about better picture quality – it is also about selecting a product that is safe, sustainable, and built to last. It ensures that the colors you see are exactly as intended, the brightness is maintained over time, and the product has been made responsibly.

Samsung's dedication to quality is nothing new. The brand has consistently redefined the viewing experience, from world-famous AMOLED smartphone screens to award-winning QLED TVs. The 2025 lineup includes the Q8F and Q7F series, its most advanced QLED generation yet. These are powered by Vision AI to refine every on-screen detail.

Certification proves that true Quantum Dot Technology is in Samsung QLED TVs. This gives the most realistic picture quality. The message is simple: when Samsung says QLED, it means Real QLED. So, when you buy your next TV, ask: Does it offer Quantum Dot Sheet? 100% color volume? Is it cadmium-free? Has it been certified? If not, it's not really a QLED.

With Real QLED, what you see isn't just vivid—it's real. There is no misleading marketing or compromises. Authentic technology brings every moment to life with Real QLED, whether it's movie nights, sports, or gaming.
