Abdur Rahim's 6-72 fires Rajshahi into the lead

Rajshahi Division took a narrow 10-run lead after bundling out Rangpur Division for 258 in their first innings on Day 2 of their fifth-round National Cricket League clash at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium on Sunday. Pacer Abdur Rahim starred with figures of 6-72, while Abdullah Al Mamun top-scored with 64. Rajshahi were 12 without loss at stumps in their second innings.

Sylhet Division gained the upper hand against Chattogram Division at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura, riding on a five-wicket haul from Abu Jayed Rahi. The pacer returned figures of 5-37 to bowl out Chattogram for just 110 on the second day, giving Sylhet a commanding first-innings lead of 145 after they had posted 255.

By stumps, Sylhet had stretched their lead to 338, reaching 193 for six. Skipper Zakir Hasan scored 61 while Amite Hasan remained unbeaten on 58.

In Khulna, Mymensingh Division responded steadily, closing the second day on 170 for three. Under-19 captain Azizul Hakim Tamim remained unbeaten on 48, while Mohammad Naim contributed 57. Earlier, resuming on 328 for six, Khulna Division were bowled out for 387 in their first innings.

At the Cox's Bazar International Stadium, Barishal Division fought back strongly against Dhaka Division, finishing the day on 243 for five. Iftakhar Hossain Ifti (78) and Md Abdullah (55) led the resistance, while Sohag Gazi and Tasamul Haque were unbeaten on 22 and 15, respectively. Sumon Khan claimed 4-47 for Dhaka.

Earlier, Dhaka's overnight batter Marshall Ayub was dismissed for 120 as they were bowled out for 273 after resuming on 246 for seven.
