Mariah Carey will be honored as MusiCares' 2026 Person of the Year at a gala in Los Angeles on 30 January, just two days before the Grammy Awards.
The five-time Grammy winner was selected for her decades-long influence on music and her philanthropic work, including founding Camp Mariah for underserved youth and supporting relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina and the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Her artistry and her voice have helped shape the sound of our times," said Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr Carey joins past honorees such as Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, and Jon Bon Jovi.
The annual event raises funds for MusiCares programs supporting the health and well-being of music professionals.
