Police have arrested a man who went viral on social media for brandishing a knife at Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka last week.
The arrestee has been identified as Shah Ali Sikder, 35. A team of police detained him from Gazipur last night, said Jaynal Abedin, officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station.
According to police, on October 16, Shah Ali was seen holding a knife inside Kamalapur Railway Station. A video of the incident later went viral on social media platforms.
The footage shows the man, with a cigarette in his mouth, unwrapping a piece of cloth to reveal a knife and brandishing it. Moments later, he wraps the knife again and tucks it inside his trousers.
Legal action against him is underway, the OC said.
