BNP today announced possible candidates for 237 out of 300 parliamentary constituencies ahead of the upcoming national election, with Khaleda Zia nominated for three seats.
The BNP chairperson has been nominated to contest from Dinajpur-1, Bogura-7, and Feni-1 constituencies, while the party's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, will contest from Bogura-6.
The announcement was made by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at a press briefing this evening at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan, Dhaka.
Fakhrul himself will contest from Thakurgaon-1.
Fakhrul said the party did not announce candidates for some constituencies to leave room for allies.
He added that the Standing Committee may withdraw or revise the announced nominations if necessary.
