The schedule for the Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUcsu) election will be formally announced tomorrow, along with the finalised code of conduct, university authorities confirmed today.
Chief Election Commissioner Professor Mostafa Hasan made the announcement around noon.
"Tomorrow, we will officially announce the election schedule for JnUcsu, which will include the polling date. The final code of conduct will also be published then. We are currently working on both," said Prof Mostafa.
He added, "I don't want to comment further for now. All details will be shared during tomorrow's official briefing."
When asked about various demands raised by student organisations, the chief election commissioner said, "We have listened to their concerns, but I don't think it is appropriate to comment on those right now."
Earlier, on October 30, the draft code of conduct was published, making dope tests mandatory for all candidates.
On Sunday, the JnUcsu Election Commission held a meeting with student leaders and campus journalists to gather feedback on the code and discuss potential election dates.
The university formed a five-member election commission on October 29, appointing Prof Mostafa Hasan, chairman of the Department of Social Work, as chief election commissioner.
