Interim govt to hold first-ever press conference at Chief Adviser's Office

For the first time since assuming office, the interim government has announced a press conference at the Chief Adviser's Office in Tejgaon, scheduled for tomorrow (3 November) at 12pm, according to the Chief Adviser's Press Wing.

Earlier in the morning, a meeting of the Advisory Council is expected to take place, sources familiar with the matter said.

While the press wing did not disclose the specific agenda of the briefing, several sources indicated that the Advisory Council meeting will focus on the implementation process of the "July Charter." Details of the discussion are likely to be shared during the press conference.

In the nearly 15 months since the interim government took office, no press conference has been held at the Chief Adviser's Office.

Typically, briefings by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing have taken place at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital or at the chief adviser's official residence, Jamuna.

Yesterday (1 November), Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus directed the chiefs of three services to take all necessary measures to ensure foolproof security and a peaceful atmosphere during the national election in February.

The three chiefs -- Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan -- held a meeting with the chief adviser at the State Guest House Jamuna at 7pm. National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman was also present.
