IDCOL joins hands with ABA Group for green industrial growth

In a major step towards promoting sustainable industrial growth, Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) and ABA Group have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen energy efficiency, water management, and environmental standards across ABA Group's manufacturing operations.

The partnership was announced at a ceremony held at Sheraton Dhaka, attended by senior leadership from both organisations. Building on their successful collaboration under IDCOL's Energy Efficiency and Biogas programmes, this renewed alliance aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced green technologies and renewable energy solutions in the ready-made garment (RMG) sector.

ABA Group — recognised for establishing Bangladesh's first LEED Platinum-certified apparel factory — operates several LEED-certified facilities equipped with systems for water reuse, wastewater treatment, and energy optimisation. With IDCOL's tailored financing and technical advisory support, the Group plans to further reduce its carbon footprint and set new benchmarks for responsible manufacturing.

"Commitment to responsible manufacturing is at the core of our ethos," said Sajjadur Rahman Mridha, Chairman of ABA Group. "This partnership with IDCOL empowers us to enhance our environmental performance and lead by example in sustainable industrial practices."

Echoing this, Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director and CEO of IDCOL, said, "ABA Group's sustainability vision perfectly aligns with our mission to promote resource-smart industrial projects. Together, we aim to unlock cost savings, environmental benefits, and accelerate green manufacturing momentum in Bangladesh."

Going forward, the collaboration will focus on renewable energy initiatives, including rooftop solar installations, net-metering, and low-carbon infrastructure integration across ABA Group facilities.

The partnership reaffirms ABA Group's commitment to "Manufacture Responsibly" and IDCOL's role in driving Bangladesh's transition towards a low-carbon, high-performance industrial future.
