The Election Commission (EC) will hold a meeting with law enforcement agencies this afternoon (14 December).
The meeting is set to begin at 4pm, Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud told the media.
"We will meet the police commissioner, the inspector general of police, the director general of Border Guard Bangladesh, the home secretary, the law secretary, and officials of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) to discuss overall security," he said.
According to EC sources, the discussion will focus on security preparations for the 13th National Parliament Election and the referendum.
EC Secretariat Director (Public Relations) and information officer Md Ruhul Amin Mollik said EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed will brief journalists after the meeting.
