Professor Dr A A Mahbub Uddin Chowdhury, of the Department of Finance at the University of Dhaka, has recently joined Janata Bank PLC as a Director.
Dr Chowdhury has been teaching at the University of Dhaka for over four decades and previously served as Chairman of the Department of Finance.
He completed his BCom (Honours) and MCom degrees in Finance from the University of Dhaka with distinction.
Later, as a Monbusho Scholar, he earned a master's degree in Economics from Nagoya University, Japan, and subsequently obtained his PhD from the University of Dhaka.
Throughout his academic career, Dr Chowdhury has participated in numerous seminars and training programmes, both at home and abroad.
He has published approximately 35 research papers in national and international journals.
In recognition of his contribution to academic research, he received the Dean's Award for Best Researcher from the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka.
