In collaboration with Green Delta Insurance and with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, BRAC Bank Tara organised a breast cancer awareness session titled "Rising Above Fear" at the bank's head office on Friday evening.
The event aimed to raise awareness about early detection, prevention, and treatment of breast cancer, encouraging women to take proactive steps toward their health and wellbeing.
Following the session, Professor Dr Md Habibullah Talukder Ruskin — widely known as the Pink Man of Bangladesh — was honoured for his outstanding contribution to cancer awareness and advocacy. Dr Ruskin is the founder and chief coordinator of Bangladesh Breast Cancer Awareness Forum, and former professor and head of Cancer Epidemiology at the National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital. He is currently serving as the project coordinator at Gonoshasthaya Community-Based Cancer Hospital.
The Bangladesh Breast Cancer Awareness Forum expressed its gratitude to the organisers for their continued efforts to spread awareness and empower women through knowledge and collective action.
