Delupi trailer previews life and struggle in rural Khulna

The official trailer of Delupi, directed by Mohammad Tauqir Islam, was released on Thursday, offering a glimpse into the lives and struggles of people in a remote corner of Khulna.

Running for nearly two minutes, the trailer portrays themes of politics, love, natural disasters, and the perseverance of jatra artists against the backdrop of rural transformation. The film is set to premiere in Khulna on 7 November before a nationwide release on 14 November, including theatres in Dhaka.

Delupi marks the feature debut of Tauqir Islam, who is known for capturing local authenticity in his work. Speaking about the film, he said his aim was to tell stories of ordinary people "with them, not apart from them," and to work with local talent.

The cast, drawn entirely from different unions of Khulna, includes Chiranjit Biswas, Aditi Roy, Rudra Roy, and Md Zakir Hossain. Both Biswas and Roy, who make their big-screen debuts, described the project as a learning experience and expressed gratitude to the team for their support.
