Earthquakes occur when pressure causes tectonic plates to suddenly shift. Bangladesh endured its deadliest quake of 2025 on 21 November, Friday having a magnitude of 5.7. Its epicentre was in Madhabdi, Narsingdi, which killed at least 10 people and injured several others.* The country has already recorded 68 earthquakes this year.
