Charli XCX announces new album

Charli XCX has revealed her new album, 'Wuthering Heights', set for release on 13 February 2026 via Atlantic Records, along with a new single, 'Chains of Love.'

The album was inspired by the British musician's collaboration with filmmaker Emerald Fennell on the latest adaptation of Emily Brontë's classic novel. Charli explained on Substack that her initial involvement in the film led to the idea of a full-length project.

"I wanted to dive into a world that felt raw, wild, sexual, gothic, British and tortured," she said, describing the album's aesthetic as a departure from her everyday life.

Charli primarily created Wuthering Heights with producer and songwriter Finn Keane, formerly known as Easyfun. The duo drew inspiration from Todd Haynes' Velvet Underground documentary, aiming to make songs that were both "elegant and brutal." Much of the album was written while on tour, with studio sessions happening daily.

The 12-track album opens with 'House,' a collaboration with Velvet Underground co-founder John Cale, and follows her previous projects Brat, its deluxe expansion, and remix albums. Wuthering Heights promises to explore new personas and sonic territories while maintaining Charli's signature experimental style.
