Ceramics expo kicks off in Dhaka on 27 November

The fourth edition of Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2025, one of Asia's largest international ceramic exhibitions, is set to begin on 27 November at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital.

The four-day event is being organised by the Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA).

At a press briefing held today (23 November) at the Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium, BCMEA President Moinul Islam shared the details of the upcoming expo.

This year's expo is expected to draw significant global attention with the participation of 135 organisations and 300 brands from 25 countries, alongside 500 international delegates and buyers. The exhibition will showcase raw materials, machinery, advanced technologies, and finished ceramic products from across the world.

According to the organisers, Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin will inaugurate the expo on 27 November, while Foreign Affairs Adviser Mohammad Touhid Hossain will attend a special session on 29 November as chief guest.

Speaking at the briefing, BCMEA President Moinul Islam highlighted the steady growth of the ceramic sector in Bangladesh.

He added that the country now has more than 70 ceramic tableware, tiles, and sanitaryware factories, with an annual domestic market size of around Tk 8,000 crore. Over the past decade, investment and production have increased by nearly 150%.

Bangladesh currently exports ceramic products to over 50 countries, earning around Tk500 crore annually, he added. Major global players, including China and India, are showing growing interest in investing in the country's ceramic industry, which has so far drawn investments worth Tk18,000 crore and created employment for nearly five lakh people, directly and indirectly.

Fair Committee Chairman Irfan Uddin said that Bangladeshi ceramic products are gaining higher global acceptance thanks to improved quality and innovative designs.

Ceramic Expo Bangladesh as not only the largest ceramic exhibition in Asia, but also a platform where manufacturers, exporters, and suppliers can showcase their innovations, modern technologies, and new products, he added

He added that technologies such as automation, advanced digital printing, robotic handling, and next-generation production lines are set to transform the future of the industry. With global trends shifting toward smart tiles and sensor-integrated ceramic products, Bangladesh's producers will have opportunities to explore and adopt these innovations through the expo.

The expo will feature three seminars, a job fair, B2B and B2C meetings, live demonstrations, spot orders, raffle draws, and new product launches.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors free of charge from 10am to 6pm every day from 27 to 30 November.
