A Bengali rock concert titled "Ghor Chhara Ek Shukhi Chele" will be held on November 7 at the Falls Church auditorium in Virginia, USA, commemorating the legacy of legendary musician Ayub Bachchu. Organised as part of the DMV Bangla Rock Festival series, the event aims to celebrate the artiste's timeless songs, powerful vocals, and electrifying guitar performances that continue to resonate with fans across generations.
Bands Bibagi, Cronage, Jotil, Shadow Dreams, and Rafi Alam & his band will pay tribute to the rock icon through performances of his classic numbers. Former LRB member, singer and music arranger SI Tutul will also take the stage, while Swapan—founding member and bassist of LRB—will appear as special guest. The event is organised by Rosario Mediaworks.
According to the organisers, the concert will begin at 7pm local time and continue late into the night. Alongside the musical performances, the evening will include recitations, discussions, and other special segments. A highlight of the event will be the reunion of Ayub Bachchu's long-time bandmates Swapan and Tutul, both performing in honour of their late friend and collaborator.
Meanwhile, the Ayub Bachchu Foundation has launched several initiatives to preserve and promote the late musician's legacy among younger generations. Their plans include establishing a memory museum, hosting tribute concerts, presenting honours in his name, and releasing nearly 200 previously unpublished songs.
"Our only wish is to keep Ayub Bachchu alive among people by honouring the love with which he touched their hearts," said Abdullah Al Masud, general secretary of the Ayub Bachchu Foundation. The Foundation's chairperson, Ferdaus Akhtar Chandana, along with their children Fairooz Safra Ayub and Ahnnaf Tazwar Ayub, echoed the same sentiment.
Fans around the world continue to express their emotions on social media, reaffirming the belief that an artiste never truly dies—he lives forever through his creations.
