Young filmmaker Rezwan Shahriar Sumit is making his second film "Master" after "Nonajoler Kabbo" (The Salt in Our Waters). After completing principal photography, the film is now on the editing table. Its color grading and sound work have been completed at a world-renowned studio in South Korea. Artistes from different parts of the world were involved in this process.
The post-production work for the political thriller "Master" was done in South Korea. Involved in the post-production are Steve M Choe, editor of Bong Joon-ho's "Snowpiercer", and Han Mohwan, sound designer of Lee Chang-dong's "Burning".
The filmmaker revealed that with assistance from the Busan Film Commission, Master's color grading, sound design, and mixing work were completed at studios in Seoul and Busan's C47, Wavelab, and Busan Sound Stage. The filmmaker was accompanied on this Korea trip by Bangladesh's sound editor and designer Shoibo Talukder. Master has been edited by Christian Sprague and Hao Ting-hsi. Christian had previously edited the filmmaker's debut film "Nonajoler Kabbo".
The film "Master" will explore various aspects of grassroots-level politics in the country. The film received government grants in the 2022-23 fiscal year. Along with directing, Rezwan is also producing the film.
The filmmaker told Prothom Alo that the film will first participate in various film festivals around the world before being released in domestic theaters. The film stars Nasir Uddin Khan, Zakia Bari Mamo, Azmeri Haque Badhon, Fazlur Rahman Babu, and Lutfar Rahman George in various roles.
