AIUB hosts Ideas Challenge 2025 to promote innovation and social impact

The Ideas Challenge 2025 competition took place on Saturday, 1 November, at the American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) campus.

The event was organised by Shomoy, the university's Social Welfare Club, under the theme "Ideas that Change Lives and Shape the Future".

The event was inaugurated by Mr Ishtiaq Abedin, Founding Member of AIUB. Also in attendance were Group Captain (Retd) Dr Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, Registrar; Professor Dr Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean (In-Charge), Faculty of Business Administration; and Professor Dr Manzur H Khan, Proctor of AIUB, together with faculty members, officials, mentors and representatives from participating institutions.

A total of 50 educational institutions from across the country participated in this year's competition. Participants showcased innovative projects and posters addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on areas such as youth employment, gender equality, physical and mental health, poverty alleviation, information technology, innovation, climate action and waste management.

At the awards ceremony, Professor Dr Saiful Islam, Vice-Chancellor of AIUB, attended as Chief Guest, while Professor Dr Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, was also present. Prizes and certificates were presented to the winners, followed by a cultural programme.

The Ideas Challenge 2025 aims to nurture students' creativity and encourage socially responsible innovation, fostering collaboration and solutions for sustainable development.
