At least 27 female police officers were injured after a bus overturned inside the Dampara Police Lines in Chattogram on Friday afternoon.
Police said the officers were on their way to Sagarika Stadium to perform duties for the ongoing Bangladesh–West Indies cricket match when the accident occurred.
Deputy Commissioner (Welfare and Force) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, Md Hasan Mostafa Swapan, said, "The bus carrying female police members lost control on a downhill stretch inside the compound and crashed into a tree, but none of them are in critical condition."
"Twelve of the injured officers were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital [CMCH] for treatment, while around 15 others are being treated at the Dampara Police Lines Hospital," he added.
Sub-Inspector Nur-e-Alam Ashiq of the CMCH Police Outpost said, "Twelve injured officers are under treatment here, and about fifteen others are receiving care at the police hospital. All are out of danger."
According to witnesses, the bus lost control while descending a slope inside the Dampara Police Lines premises around noon and hit a tree before overturning.
